Model 210 Hydrocarbon Analyzer
FID Oven Heated Methane / Ethane / Non Methane Ethane (NMEHC) / Total Hydrocarbon Analyzer
The VIG Industries, Inc. Model 210 is a microprocessor based, oven heated methane / ethane / non methane-ethane (NMEHC) total hydrocarbon analyzer for high accuracy, sensitivity and stability. The Model 210 measures methane, ethane, non methane-ethane hydrocarbons at preset intervals and continuously measures total hydrocarbons in real time. The Model 210 uses two (2) Flame Ionization Detectors (FID). One FID is used to obtain methane, ethane and non methane ethane hydrocarbon readings. The second FID is used to continuously measure total hydrocarbons. A sample is fed to the analyzer via an internal heated pump. After the sample reaches the analyzer it is fed to the first FID to measure total hydrocarbons. A small portion of the sample is trapped and fed through a GC (gas chromatography) column to separate the methane and ethane from the total and is fed to the second FID detector for analysis. As soon as the methane and ethane components are read, the remaining sample is back flushed through the column and fed to the FID detector for analysis of the non methane ethane component. The LCD display indicates the amount of methane, ethane, residual (non methane ethane) and total hydrocarbons.
The Model 210 utilizes two flame ionization detectors (FID). The detectors, all sample lines, GC column and all solenoid valves that come in contact with the sample are maintained in a controlled, heated oven to prevent condensation, and to provide reliable performance in the analysis of concentrations of wide varieties of hydrocarbons in gaseous mixtures and in ambient air.
